Magnetek to Present the Benefits of Variable Brake Technology at IMEX 2014

MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. − September 8, 2014 − Magnetek, Inc. (NASDAQ: MAG), a leading supplier of variable frequency drives and wireless radio controls for mining applications, announced that Ed Butte, Magnetek’s director of mining, will be presenting an educational session at the International Mining Conference & Expo (IMEX), taking place in Las Vegas, September 23-25, 2014.

Butte has been with Magnetek for over 32 years, serving in a variety of roles in the Company’s industrial controls and inverter businesses. His seminar, Improving Efficiency and Process Control with Variable Frequency Drives, will explore the topics of using motor and variable speed drive technology to optimize electrical system efficiencies and improve diagnostics for underground mining applications.

With over 40 years of experience, 10,000 mining drives, and 146,000 wireless radio controls operating in the field, Magnetek has a proven track record of reliability and value in the mining industry. The Company also provides custom engineered power control systems that include liquid and air cooled options in addition to a system that combines two variable frequency drives in a common enclosure for combined traction and hydraulic applications. Magnetek’s innovative, cost-effective wireless radio controls, complete with hydraulic or electronic interface controls, are designed to reduce internal engineering and manufacturing costs and enhance equipment performance.

“On behalf of Magnetek, I am pleased to present this important topic at IMEX 2014,” said Butte. “IMEX provides us with an excellent forum to explain variable speed drive technology and its benefits for underground mining applications.”
